I created a three-panel geometric design for an XL lace project. To test my pattern, I will work it at “normal” lace scale in silk. Why silk? I love the material. My finished silk projects have a beautiful sheen, the thread weight is perfect, and I can easily find Gutermann silk spools in any color I want.

You probably recognize many of the concepts in the pattern from the grocery bag sampler. I designed the sampler knowing I would use these stitches in the final piece.

I will soon reveal the project that all the samplers are working towards. I am VERY excited about it and cannot wait to share! Until then, bobbin lace needs to be made and pictures should be taken.
