MET Lace Viewing

My family took a trip to New York and DC. It was filled with visiting as many places as we could. One of those for me was going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) for a lace viewing. I worked with several people in the Antonio Ratti Textile Center to set up the special opportunity to see lace pieces that are normally stored away. After some back and forth, we settled on a stunning variety of lace.

Although, I took MANY pictures, I am not allowed to post them. The pictures below are the paper descriptions of a few of the pieces I viewed. You can click on the picture to see the lace on the MET website.

The last one is my absolute favorite. It is so intricate and the lace possesses techniques I never dreamed were possible. Needless to say, it is incredibly inspiring.
