Paper Or…

The plastic bag piece is finally finished and it has a name: “Paper or…”

Just to be clear for those who may not get the name: When groceries were being bagged in times of yore (sometimes it still happens), the individual would ask – would you like paper or plastic. Since the lace piece is made with plastic grocery bags, I thought the name was clever. 🙂

While I had always planned on this piece going in a tree in the park, that is not the goal anymore. It will be shipped off to New York, to be displayed in the Lacemaker’s Studio at the Bard Graduate Center during the Threads of Power lace exhibition. I will be flying out for the opening, so I will get lots of pictures of beautiful lace.

The Paper Or… piece is 9 ft long and 1 ft wide.

We installed the lace in a tree for pictures and immediately took it down again. The lace really stands out against the tree in Montclair park in front of the Molkery. I might make another to achieve the original goal.
