By the time I finished all 180 seeds, my hands were aching, but the effort was worth it for the final effect!

Finishing touches! All pins removed, ends sewn, and now it’s time to admire the completed lace piece. It’s incredible to think that this 5x2-foot work began as a pile of plastic bags. Now, it is an eco-conscious art piece, challenging perceptions of disposable materials and celebrating the power of transformation. 🌎✨

Cloth stitch is one of the basic techniques of bobbin lace. This video will take you through an entire pattern made with cloth stitch.

How To Make A Bobbin Lace Cloth Stitch

To get ready to make lace, you will need to gather:
- Six pairs of bobbins, which is 12 individual bobbins
- Lace pillow
- Pins
- #10 crochet thread
- Printed pattern
- Scissors
- Packing tape

Preparing Materials To Make Lace

There are substitutions for bobbin lace:
Pillows - cork board, foam board, and insulation foam
Bobbins - clothes pins, popsicle sticks, and beaded skewers
Pins - plastic/glass head versus stainless steel
Thread - #10 crochet thread and embroidery thread
