The needle lace heart project is complete. The name of the piece is Content Creator’s Desire. Those who create and share their art on social media pour their heart and soul into the work for likes. The anatomical heart represents an artist’s heart and soul. The heart-shaped hearts are floating in the air like a live on TikTok. I connected the two types of hearts with elements meant to look like veins.
I LOVE to look at the back of projects like embroidery, needle lace, and quilting. No matter whether it is messy or perfectly neat, I find it fascinating. The red you see on the back of my needle lace fabric are all supporting stitches. The two types of hearts are support for the cordonnet outline. The “dash” lines are supports for the vein connecting stitches. The red thread goes through the fabric, while the white thread that makes up the needle lace only lays on top of the fabric.
This is the final piece of needle lace off the backing fabric/pattern. Content Creator’s Desire was my first needle lace design. The only thing I would change is the size. After nearly finishing, I learned that needle lace is normally much smaller. For this piece, I think it is fine, because the size is impressive. Scaling it down would make the lace more workable as a whole.
