There is so much more to tell you about my lacemaking journey, but I want to catch you up-to-date. I promise, I will periodically post about past classes and bobbin lace pieces.
I am currently taking a Point Fusion bobbin lace design class from Pierre Fouché. The class is run through an online learning platform and zoom. I suggest you google his name to see the phenomenal art he has created. I have been amazed at his work with bobbin lace displayed in a 3D format and his work with tone through stitch density.
This class has made me step outside of my comfort zone, because many of the stitches he discusses (and types of bobbin lace), I have never even dreamed of trying. I also find that I am a very symmetrical person. When designing, I have trouble when symmetry is not in play. I think it could be restrictive, but I am happy with the results so far.
The pictures are from the first piece I designed in the class. It is a geometric design that comes to a point at both ends. It was a little tricky, because I found an error early on. After a quick redesign, it worked up beautifully.
I love your style and your website and can’t wait to see your next project. Please let us know how to access your graphing paper or app. This graphing pattern would suit me much better too. Thanks, Carol.
Hello! I created an isometric graph in Adobe Illustrator, but you could find it online. Google search isometric graph paper. Does that answer your question?
